The Science Fiction Syllogism

Alright, alright. It's a little late to be considered a "Saturday" post, but at least I'm getting this up. Have you ever run into a situation where you wished you had a logical reason to give someone for liking sci-fi? Did you ever wish that reason came in the form of a logical syllogism?
